Using Sonos with unsupported operating systems

This article provides information about the in-app message: “The OS on this mobile device is no longer supported.”

If you use Sonos on one of the OS versions listed below, your Sonos app will not receive updates but can still be used to control commonly used features of Sonos.

Sonos S2 app

  • iOS 14 and 15
  • iPadOS 14 and 15
  • Android 7
  • Fire OS 6
  • Windows 7

Sonos S1 app

  • iOS 10 and 11
  • Android 5, 6, and 7*
  • Fire OS 5 and 6

If your OS is older than these versions, you will not be able to control Sonos from that device, and will need to update the OS or use a different device with a supported OS. For a list of fully supported OS versions, see our system requirements article.
