Product shown as incompatible in the Sonos app

This error message is shown in the Sonos app if your Sonos system detects a product that is only compatible with the Sonos S1 Controller app. This can happen if the product in question was powered off when the system was previously updated from S1 to S2, then powered on again after the update was completed.

The incompatible product cannot be used in the Sonos app. You can reset the incompatible product to remove it from your system.

You can still use the Sonos product after you reset it to factory defaults, but it needs to be set up again separately using the Sonos S1 Controller app. You can learn how to do this in our article on setting up a separate Sonos S1 system.
