Refused connection error when using the music library

The Sonos app can show a “Computer refused the connection” error when your Sonos system is trying to access your music library.

The error is typically caused by having multiple computers on one network with the same hostname. If two or more computers have the same hostname, then the router may be directing Sonos to the wrong computer to access your music files.

If you see a refused connection error when using your music library:

You may be able to resolve this by rebooting your router. Otherwise, you’ll likely need to change the hostname on one or more of your computers. You can contact us for further assistance.
