Disable or enable WiFi on your Sonos products

You can choose to disable a Sonos product’s WiFi if it’s connected to your network with an Ethernet cable. This can be a useful option for Sonos products that don't need wireless connections such as a set of rack-mounted Amps or Ports.

Some Sonos products don’t have an option to disable the WiFi. Move, Roam, and Roam SL will always have their Wi-Fi enabled. Sonos products that can use the Sonos Combo Adapter will automatically disable their WiFi when they’re connected to a network with an Ethernet cable.

Recovering a Sonos product with disabled WiFi

If you disconnect the Ethernet cable from a Sonos product with disabled WiFi, it will no longer show up in your Sonos app. If you'd like to use WiFi again on your Sonos product, you can access its WiFi settings by temporarily plugging it back into your network with an Ethernet cable.
