Remove your music library

This article will show you how to remove your Sonos music library from your system. You will need to do this if you’ve moved your music files to a new computer or NAS drive. Once removed, you’ll be able to re-add your music library.


Sonos app for Windows or macOS

These steps apply to both the Sonos app and the S1 Controller app.

  1. From the Manage menu, click Music Library Settings.
  2. Click on the folder you want to remove.
  3. Click - (minus) on Mac, or Remove if using Windows, and confirm you want to remove the library from Sonos.


Sonos app for iOS or Android

Sonos app version 80.0
This feature is not currently available in the Sonos app for iOS or Android, but it will return in a future update.

  1. Go to the Settings menu.
  2. Select the Manage button next to My System.
  3. Select Music Library, then Music Library Setup.
  4. Select the remove icon next to the folder you’d like to remove.
  5. Select Confirm to remove the share.


Sonos S1 Controller app for iOS or Android

  1. From the  Settings tab, select System > Music Library > Music Library Setup.
  2. Select the folder you want to remove.
  3. Select Remove.
