Alarms not working on portable Sonos products

This article covers what to do if you’ve set an alarm on your Move or Roam product that is not going off properly.

This usually happens when the Battery Saver setting is enabled on your portable Sonos product. When this setting is turned on, the portable Sonos product will fully shut off after 30 minutes of inactivity instead of going to sleep. This prevents it from waking up to set off scheduled alarms.

Battery Saver is enabled by default on Roam, Roam 2, and Roam SL. It is disabled by default on Move and Move 2.

Follow the steps below to disable Battery Saver on any portable products you wish to use with alarms.

Sonos app for iOS or Android

  1. Go to the Settings menu and select Manage next to Your System.
  2. Select Alarms and make sure your alarm is set properly on your portable Sonos product.
  3. Go back to the Settings menu and select your portable Sonos product from your system list.
  4. Under Battery, set Battery Saver to off.

Sonos S1 Controller app for iOS or Android

  1. From the Rooms tab, select the Alarms icon. Make sure your alarm is set properly on your portable Sonos product.
  2. Next, go to the Settings tab, select System, then choose your portable Sonos product.
  3. Under Battery, set Battery Saver to off.

Your portable Sonos product will now properly set off an alarm at its scheduled time.
