Change your Sonos system’s wireless channel

This article will show you how to change your Sonos system’s wireless channel.

The SonosNet Channel setting is available while you have at least one Sonos product wired to your network with an Ethernet cable. If all your Sonos products connect to your WiFi network, the SonosNet Channel will appear grayed-out in the Sonos app and cannot be changed.

Sonos app for iOS or Android

This setting is not currently available in the Sonos app for iOS or Android, but it will return in a future update.

  1. Go to the Settings menu.
  2. Select the Manage button next to My System.
  3. Select Network, then SonosNet Channel.
  4. Change the wireless channel to 1, 6, or 11.

Sonos S1 Controller app for iOS or Android

  1. Open the Sonos S1 Controller app for iOS or Android.
  2. From the  Settings tab, select System > Network > SonosNet Channel.
  3. Change the wireless channel to 1, 6, or 11.

Changing the wireless channel is a troubleshooting step in reducing wireless interference. If you’re changing the wireless channel to solve a problem, try using your Sonos system on each of the three channels to find which one performs best. We recommend using Sonos on a wireless channel that is not being used by your wireless router.
