Power adapter requirements for charging Sonos Roam

This article goes over the power adapter requirements for charging Sonos Roam.

For the fastest charge, we recommend charging Roam with a 5V/2A (10W) USB power adapter. A 10W power adapter is available in our shop on its own or included with our wireless charger. While Roam is capable of charging with a 5V/1.5A (7.5W) USB power adapter, you may experience slower charging times.


Insufficient power supply message

If Roam is connected to a charger that is not supplying enough power, the Sonos app will show an Insufficient power supply message in the System settings menu. This usually happens if Roam is connected to a common 5V/1A (5W) phone charger.

If you see this message, connect Roam to a 5V/2A (10W) USB power adapter instead.
