Factory reset your Sonos product
This article will show you how to reset a Sonos product to its factory settings. If you are trying to reboot your Sonos product, please view our article on rebooting Sonos products to learn how.
This process will delete registration information, content saved to My Sonos, and music services from a Sonos product. This is commonly done before transferring ownership to another person. Your Sonos app may also recommend that you go through this process if it can't find your product during setup. If you wish to erase data from multiple Sonos products, you will need to perform these steps on each of them.
Resetting all products within your system will permanently delete your system’s data. It cannot be restored.
We do not recommend resetting your Sonos product as a troubleshooting step.

Continuous flashing white light after resetting?
Some older Sonos products take more time to reset than others. These products include Boost, Connect, Connect:Amp, Play:1, Play:3, Sub (Gen 1), and Sub (Gen 2).
If something interrupts the reset process for these products, they will likely need to connect to your network with an Ethernet cable to complete the reset. Follow the solution steps in this article to fix this issue.

- Sonos Ace will need a powered USB-C connection during part of the reset process. Get a USB-C cable ready by connecting it to a power source, like a laptop or a wall adapter, but don’t connect it to Sonos Ace yet.
- Make sure your Sonos Ace is powered on.
- Press and hold the power button on Sonos Ace, then immediately plug the USB-C cable into the USB-C port on the left ear cup.

- After the status light flashes white, unplug the USB-C cable from Sonos Ace and release the power button.
Once reset, Sonos Ace will go into pairing mode and show a flashing blue status light.
After resetting Sonos Ace, you can reconnect it to a previously-used device, but you first need to remove it from your device’s list of remembered connections. To do this, open your device’s Bluetooth or Connected Device settings, select Sonos Ace from the list, then choose Forget or Remove.
