Sonos Voice Control commands targeting Hue not working
This article provides steps to address issues with Sonos Voice Control not resolving Hue targeted commands correctly.
Confirm the Hue product name
Open the Hue app and navigate to the list of named products within the Hue system. Confirm that the product being targeted is assigned the name you are using during voice commands.
If not, you can rename the product for your preferred voice command experience. Please note that name changes in the Hue app may take up to 24 hours to replicate.
Check for identical product names
If you are using identical product names for both Sonos and Hue, we recommend utilizing explicit commands to more reliably target your intended product.
- Implicit request example: “Hey Sonos, turn on the Kitchen.”
- Result: Sonos Voice Control will turn on the Sonos product and start playing music.
- Explicit request example: “Hey Sonos, turn on the kitchen plug.”
- Result: Sonos Voice Control will turn on the plug located in the kitchen.
Check for multiple Hue Homes
If multiple Hue Homes are used on a single network, voice commands may fail. A Hue Home refers to any number of Hue Bridges that have been coordinated to work together in a system.
To check your Hue Home number, open the Hue app and tap Settings > My Homes. From here, you can review the Hue Bridge products that make up your Hue Homes.
For the most reliable voice command experience, we recommend configuring a single Hue Home on your network to work with Sonos.
