Filter explicit content on Sonos
You can filter explicit content on Sonos using the Parental Controls options in the Sonos app.
The explicit content filter is a setting that applies to your entire Sonos system. It’s also a password-protected feature, meaning you’ll be prompted to log in to your Sonos account when you try to enable or disable the filter.
To turn on explicit content filtering, follow the steps below.
Sonos app for iOS or Android
- Go to the Settings menu.
- Select the Manage button next to My System.
- Select Parental Controls.
- Select Filter Explicit Content to enable content filtering.
Sonos S1 Controller app for iOS or Android
- From the Settings tab, select System.
- Under System Settings, select Parental Controls.
- Select Filter Explicit Content to enable content filtering.
In the Services That Filter Content section, you’ll see services that are added to your Sonos system that support content filtering. If this section is empty, then none of your added services support content filtering through Sonos Parental Controls.
Sonos supports content filtering with the following music services:
- Amazon Music (US only)
- Apple Music
- YouTube Music
