Alarms not working on portable Sonos products

This article covers what to do if you’ve set an alarm on your Move, Roam, or Roam SL that is not going off properly.

This usually happens when the Battery Saver setting is enabled on your portable Sonos product. When this setting is turned on, the portable Sonos product will fully shut off after 30 minutes of inactivity instead of going to sleep. This prevents it from waking up to set off scheduled alarms.

Battery Saver is enabled by default on Roam and Roam SL and disabled by default on Move.

Follow the steps below to disable Battery Saver on any portable products you wish to use with alarms.

Set your alarm and disable Battery Saver

  1. Open the Sonos app for iOS or Android.
  2. From the System tab, press the Alarms icon. Make sure your alarm is set properly on your portable Sonos product.
  3. Next, go to the Settings tab, press System, then select your portable Sonos product.
  4. Under Battery, set Battery Saver to off.

Your portable Sonos product will now properly set off an alarm at its scheduled time.
