Sonos Roam water and dust resistance

This article provides some information and considerations when bringing your Roam outside.

The information in this article applies to Roam, Roam SL, and Roam 2.

Water resistance

Roam has an IP rating of IP67, meaning it can be submerged at a depth of up to 3ft (1m) for a short period of time.

Outdoor usage

Roam can be brought outside when in use, but we recommend storing it indoors when not in use. Roam is not rated to withstand long-term outdoor exposure.

We don’t recommend bringing Roam to outdoor environments where it could be exposed to salt water.

Using the charger

While Roam is designed for portable outdoor listening, the USB-C charging cable and wireless charger (sold separately) are not weather resistant and should only be used indoors. To prevent damage, inspect Roam’s charging port and both ends of the USB-C cable to ensure they are completely dry and free of dirt and debris before connecting the USB-C charging cable to Roam.

If you’re using the wireless charger, make sure the charging pad and the bottom of Roam are dry and free of dirt and debris before placing Roam on the charger.

Drying Sonos Roam

We recommend using a dry cloth or towel to dry off Roam after it gets wet. Let Roam air-dry to remove any excess water after wiping it down. Make sure Roam is fully dried off in between uses.

Don’t use a hair dryer or other forced hot air to dry your Roam. This may cause damage to the product’s finish.
