Sonos room names changing on their own

This article will help you solve an issue with Sonos rooms automatically reverting back to their previous names in the app.

If Sonos products are added to the Apple Home app, the Home app’s name for a product will eventually take priority and change it back within the Sonos app.

When renaming Sonos products you’ve added to the Apple Home app, you’ll need to rename the Sonos product in the Home app first.

Rename a Sonos product in the Apple Home app

1. Open the Apple Home app on your iOS device.
2. Press the Sonos product you want to rename.
3. Press the gear icon in the bottom right corner.
4. Press the current name at the top and type in the new name.
5. Press Done.

Once you’ve changed the name in the Home app, you can then change the room name in the Sonos app.
