Control Sonos from the Android lock screen

Sonos supports the control of your system from the Android lock screen. This article will show you how to enable lock screen control in your Android device’s settings.

This feature is not currently available in the Sonos app for iOS or Android, but it will return in a future update.



Sonos S1 Controller for Android

  1. From the Settings tab, select App Preferences.
  2. Enable Show Notifications and Show Lock Screen Controls.

The volume buttons on your Android device can also control the volume of Sonos from the lock screen. View our article on hardware volume control to learn how to enable this feature.


Additional details

  • The last room that you selected in the Sonos app will be displayed on the lock screen. To change the room, select another room in the Sonos app and begin playing audio. If no audio is being played to the selected room, the lock screen controls will not appear.


  • If your Android device disconnects from your wireless network or the Sonos app is force closed, you may need to relaunch the Sonos app in order for the lock screen controls to appear.
