Trueplay-compatible devices and Sonos products

This article covers which mobile devices and Sonos products are compatible with Trueplay.

Supported mobile devices

Trueplay is available on all fully-supported iOS or iPadOS devices except the devices listed below.

Android devices and devices running beta versions of iOS or iPadOS can use the quick tuning function of Trueplay, if available. Quick tuning is currently supported by Era 100 and Era 300.

If you don't have a supported device, you can borrow one from someone else to Trueplay your products. As long as your Sonos products stay in the same location, Trueplay only needs to be completed once per product.

  • iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd generation)
  • iPad Pro 11‑inch (3rd generation)
  • iPad Pro 11‑inch (4th generation)

Supported Sonos products

Trueplay tuning is supported by all Sonos products except Port, Connect, and Roam SL. Trueplay is also supported when Sonos is configured as a stereo pair, surround sound home theater, and when a Sub or Sub Mini has been added.

Amp

An Amp supports Trueplay when using Sonos In-Wall or In-Ceiling by Sonance Architectural speakers with the Amp. It is not available for the Sonos Outdoor by Sonance Architectural speakers.

Amp also supports Trueplay when powering Sonos rear channels in a home theater setup.

Connect:Amp

A Connect:Amp can only be tuned with Trueplay when it's powering Sonos rear channels in a home theater setup.

Portable Sonos products

Move, Move 2, and Roam can automatically tune themselves using automatic Trueplay™ depending on what’s playing and where they’re located. Auto Trueplay is not available on Roam SL.
