Check your Sonos home theater audio format

This article will show you how to check which audio format your Sonos home theater product is receiving from your TV. For a list of supported formats, see our article on supported home theater audio formats.

Sonos app

iOS or Android

1. Open the Sonos app for iOS or Android.
2. Open the System view by selecting your system’s name at the top of the screen.
3. Select your home theater product to bring up the Now Playing screen.
4. The audio format is displayed as a badge above the playback controls.

Web app

1. Open the Sonos Web app.
2. Select your home theater product from the list on the right side of the window.
3. The audio format is displayed on the Now Playing bar at the bottom of the window, below the home theater room name.

Sonos S1 Controller app

iOS or Android

1. Open the Sonos S1 Controller app.
2. From the Settings tab, select System > About My System.
3. The audio format is listed under your home theater product next to Audio In.

macOS or Windows

1. Open the Sonos app for macOS or Windows.
2. Select your home theater product from the list on the left side of the window.
3. The audio format is listed in the Now Playing section.
