Cleaning Sonos products
When cleaning Sonos products, we recommend using a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. To remove tough smudges, you can dampen the cloth with a mild soap solution. Avoid chemicals or solvents like isopropyl alcohol or paint thinner as they will damage the product’s finish.
Note: Sonos products with rubber rings on the bottom may leave a faint ring on some surfaces treated with polyurethane. This ring can be easily removed by wiping with a damp cloth.
Special cleaning instructions
Sonos products with microphones
Do not vacuum the microphone area or apply air pressure.
Sonos products with fabric
While the above method can be used on the hard surfaces of your Sonos products, the fabric grille on Playbar and Beam (Gen 1) have some special guidelines. To clean the fabric, use a vacuum with a hose or non-moving bristle attachment. Use a lint brush to smooth out any visible lines. Do not use a lint roller as they may leave adhesive residue on the fabric grill.
Portable Sonos products
If your portable Sonos product gets wet, you can dry it off with a dry cloth or towel. Let the portable speaker air-dry to remove any excess water after wiping it down. Make sure your portable speaker is fully dried off in between uses.
Don’t use a hair dryer or other forced hot air to dry your portable speaker. This may cause damage to the product’s finish.
Sonos Ace
You can clean Sonos Ace’s ear cushions using a solution of water and a small amount of dish soap. Remove the ear cushions from Sonos Ace, then dampen a clean cloth with the soap solution and use it to gently clean each cushion. Don’t use harsh chemicals to clean the ear cushions or submerge them in water.
To clean the wear detection sensors on Sonos Ace, remove both magnetically-attached ear cushions by gently pulling them off the product. There is one wear detection sensor in each ear cup. To clean the sensors, wipe them clean with a dry, lint-free cloth. When reattaching the ear cushions, make sure the holes in the mesh align with the sensors on each ear cup.
