HDMI ARC error while setting up a Sonos home theater product

This article provides steps you can take if you see an error related to HDMI ARC while setting up your Sonos home theater product.

After each step below, try continuing the setup process to see if the error has been fixed.

Check the HDMI cable’s connection

Unplug the HDMI cable from your TV and your Sonos home theater product, then reconnect the cable. Make sure the HDMI cable is firmly connected on both ends.

Make sure the cable is plugged into an HDMI ARC port

Most TVs have multiple HDMI ports but only one HDMI ARC port. Make sure your HDMI cable is plugged into an HDMI port labeled with “ARC.” Check your TV’s manual if you aren’t sure where to find the HDMI ARC port.

Use a different HDMI cable

A problem with the cable itself can cause an error during setup. Use a different HDMI cable to connect your Sonos home theater product to your TV.
