Transfer your Sonos system to a new account
This article will show you how to transfer your Sonos system to a new account. You may need to do this if you created a new Sonos account or are using pre-owned products that are still registered to the original account. If you don’t know the credentials for the existing account, you’ll need to sign out before you can transfer ownership of the system to a new account. Go to Settings > Account and tap Sign Out, then follow the steps below.
- Open the Sonos app for iOS or Android.
- From the Settings tab, tap System.
- Tap Transfer System Ownership and follow the prompts.
If you subscribe to Sonos Radio HD, you will also need to transfer your subscription by cancelling your Sonos Radio HD subscription on your old account, then resubscribing using your new account. See our article on managing your Sonos Radio HD subscription for information on how to cancel a subscription.
If you have any voice services connected to your Sonos system, you’ll need to relink the service to Sonos after the transfer is complete. First, remove your voice services from all of your Sonos products. Once removed, go back to Settings > Services and tap Add a Service under Voice. Follow the directions in the app to add your voice service back to your system.
