In-app SonosNet setting not working

Sonos can be configured in either a wireless or wired (SonosNet) setup. Sonos users are able to disable or enable the SonosNet feature via a setting in the Sonos App. This article will help you troubleshoot when toggling this feature on or off is not working.

Common fixes

Router WiFi bands

When toggling between wireless and wired modes, ensure that the router the Sonos system is connected to is configured for 2.4/5Ghz communication. Some Sonos products require a 2.4GHz WiFi band to communicate across the network.

WiFi network details

Check that the Sonos system is connected to the correctly named network (SSID). If you need to correct the network your Sonos products connect to, follow this link to learn how.

Incompatible network hardware

Some network hardware devices are known to be incompatible with Sonos systems. If you are experiencing SonosNet setting issues, ensure that your network hardware is not listed in the Incompatible network hardware article.

Poor wireless communication

Sonos product communication may be impacted by long distances between the product and the router or access point. Reducing this distance can improve wireless communication. Review sources of wireless interference identified in our article, Reduce wireless interference.
