Lossless audio requirements for Sonos headphones
You can listen to lossless audio on Sonos headphones over USB-C connections or over a Bluetooth connection with a supported Android device.
Lossless over Bluetooth
Sonos headphones support lossless audio over Bluetooth when connected to an Android device that includes Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound aptX for Lossless. Android devices may also require you to enable aptX support over Bluetooth. Contact your device manufacturer for more information.
Lossless audio is not available when connected to an iOS device via Bluetooth.
Lossless over USB-C
Sonos headphones support lossless audio when connected to a device via USB-C. Both USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to 3.5mm connections are supported.
When using a wired connection, lossless audio must also be enabled in the Apple Music app for iOS or Android. To enable it, follow the steps below.
Enable lossless on iOS
- On your iOS device navigate to the Settings menu, then select Apps.
- Select Music.
- Choose Lossless Audio to turn it on or off. From here you can select the audio quality for streaming and downloading audio.
- Lossless for a maximum resolution of 24-bit/48 kHz
- Hi-Res lossless for a maximum resolution of 24-bit/192 kHz
Enable lossless on Android
- Open the Apple Music app for Android.
- Select the More button.
- Select Settings, then choose Audio Quality.
- Select Lossless to turn it on or off. From here, you can adjust the audio quality for streaming and downloading audio.
- Lossless for a maximum resolution of 24-bit/48 kHz.
- Hi-Res lossless for a maximum resolution of 24-bit/192 kHz.
