Pair Sonos Beam Ultra with Bluetooth

This article will show you how to pair, disconnect, and reconnect your devices to Beam Ultra via Bluetooth.

Pair your device with Beam Ultra

Follow these steps to pair a device to your Beam Ultra via Bluetooth:

1. Put your Beam Ultra into Bluetooth pairing mode. You can do this in two different ways:
   1. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the top of your Beam Ultra.
   2. In the Sonos app for iOS or Android, go to the Settings menu and select your Beam Ultra. Under Bluetooth, select Pair New Device.
2. When your Beam Ultra is in pairing mode, you’ll hear a chime and the front status LED will start flashing blue.
3. Go to your device’s Bluetooth settings and select your Beam Ultra from the device list.
4. When successfully paired, you’ll hear another chime and the status LED will change to solid blue for a few seconds.

You can repeat this process to pair additional Bluetooth devices with your Beam Ultra.

Disconnect your device from Beam Ultra

Follow these steps to disconnect your Bluetooth device from Beam Ultra.

From your Bluetooth device:

1. Go to your device’s Bluetooth settings.
2. Select your Beam Ultra and select Disconnect.

From your Beam Ultra:

• While your Beam Ultra is paired to your device via Bluetooth, press the Bluetooth button on the top of your Beam Ultra to switch it out of Bluetooth mode.

Beam Ultra has an Idle Auto-Disconnect setting which will disconnect it from a Bluetooth device after 30 minutes of sitting idle. This setting is off by default, but can be turned on in the Settings menu. Select your Beam Ultra, then go to Bluetooth > Idle Auto-Disconnect.

Reconnect Beam Ultra to a Bluetooth device

Follow these steps to reconnect your previously paired device to your Beam Ultra:

From your Bluetooth device:

1. Go to your device’s Bluetooth settings.
2. Select your Beam Ultra from the list of previously connected devices to reconnect.

From your Beam Ultra:

1. Press the Bluetooth button on the top of your Beam Ultra to switch it to Bluetooth mode. Beam Ultra will search for its most recent Bluetooth connection.
2. When your Beam Ultra finds a previously paired device, the status LED will turn solid blue for a moment and you’ll hear a chime confirming that it has reconnected.
