Sonos Voice Control and Hue

Sonos and Hue systems are capable of integration through the use of Sonos Voice Control. Sonos Voice Control can interpret voice commands for Hue smart lights and plugs and complete those requests for convenient smart home integration. You can utilize the Hue app to set up Hue products, create automations, and access additional customization options.

Before you start

Before beginning the setup process, you must meet the following requirements to ensure a successful setup:

  • The Hue app is installed on the same mobile device as the Sonos app.
  • You must be logged into the appropriate accounts on both the Sonos and Hue apps.
  • You must have a Hue Bridge configured on the network.
  • You must have at least one Hue light or plug set up.
  • A compatible Sonos product must have Sonos Voice Control set up.

Set up Sonos Voice Control and Hue

  1. Open the Hue app and select Settings in the bottom right corner.
  2. Select Smart Home.
  3. Select the + icon in the top right corner.
  4. Select Sonos Voice Control.
    1. The Hue app will open the Sonos app.
  5. Complete the setup wizard within the Sonos app.
    1. The Sonos app will direct you back to the Hue app.
  6. Select the “Hue Home” to connect to.
  7. Agree to Hue’s Terms and Conditions in order to “Link Sonos to your Hue account and Home”.
    1. After accepting, you will be brought back to the Sonos app and will receive a confirmation whether the process was completed successfully.
    2. If successful, you will be brought back to the Hue app under the “Sonos Voice Control” menu.
